What Makes a Fluffy French Bulldog?

The fluffy coat in French Bulldogs is caused by a rare gene called the LH gene (long hair gene). Both parents must carry at least one copy of this recessive gene for a fluffy puppy to be born. This is why Fluffy Frenchies are so rare — even two fluffy carriers don't guarantee a full litter of fluffy puppies. When one does arrive, it's nothing short of magical.

What Does a Fluffy Frenchie Feel Like?

The coat is soft, silky, and longer than a standard Frenchie — most noticeably around the ears, chest, and tail. Some Fluffies have a dramatic mane around their neck that makes them look like a tiny lion. The texture is closer to a Pomeranian than a typical Frenchie, and yes — they are every bit as soft as they look.

Are Fluffy French Bulldogs Healthy?

Yes! The fluffy coat is purely cosmetic — it has absolutely no impact on the dog's health. Fluffy Frenchies have the same sweet, affectionate, playful temperament as standard Frenchies. How Much Does a Fluffy French Bulldog Cost?

Because of their rarity, Fluffy French Bulldogs typically range from $8,000 to $15,000 depending on color, lineage, and breeder. At Miami French Bulldogs, our Fluffy puppies are health tested, AKC registered, and raised in our home with love from day one.

What Colors Do Fluffy Frenchies Come In?

Fluffy Frenchies come in all the same rare colors as standard Frenchies — including Lilac, Blue, Cocoa, Isabella, Merle, and Tan Point combinations. A Lilac Fluffy or a Cocoa and Tan Fluffy is considered one of the rarest and most valuable combinations in the entire breed.
